RUMOR: New Pro Paintball team in the works

January 20, 2012 in Rumor Reports

Rumors are floating around the paintball world that a new pro paintball team is in the works. Read on for the inside scoop.

Critical Paintball forming a new pro team

Critical Paintball forming a new pro team

According to ProPaintball insiders, Critical Paintball team is looking to make their pro debut in 2012. Insiders report that a spot was opened up after Oakland BLAST announced they would not be competing in 2012. ProPaintball insiders point to Critical Paintbal’s D1 Wrecking Crew as the team best positioned to become the next NPPL Pro team. Insiders tell us the new paintball team, known officially as Los Angeles Critical, will be playing with 2012 Bob Long G6R’s, shooting Empire Paintballs and wearing head to toe Empire Paintball Gear.

Critical Paintball team playing NPPL

Critical Paintball has had a long history of involvement in the NPPL. In 2005, the team competed in Division 1 as Critical Paintball. Later, the team rebuilt as the Critical Wrecking Crew and began working their way up  through the divisions. CWC has played every division from D4 to D1 and a move to the pro division seems like the next logical step. Recently, ProPaintball reported that LA Infamous would be rebuilding with a Mid-West squad and might be calling Detroit home, potentially freeing up the Los Angeles home city. It goes without saying that Los Angeles is a hot property of interest in the NPPL. Following in the footsteps of Sacramento XSV, San Francisco Explicit, and San Diego Dynasty, Los Angeles as a city fits perfectly in building a fully functional NPPL West Coast Franchise.

What are your thoughts on the possibility of Los Angeles Critical replacing Oakland BLAST? Will we see Zack Long, Kekoa Ferguson, or other BLAST pro paintball players surface on the roster? Share your thoughts!

Rumors of a new pro paintball team emerge: Chicago Heat

January 14, 2012 in Rumor Reports

Pro Paintball insiders report that a new pro paintball team will debut in the 2012 season. Rumors started circulating around world cup and have continue to gain steam as the off season has progressed. Here is what we know.

Chicago Aftershock players on the move?

Former Chicago Aftershock players on the move?

The new pro team is said to be playing under the name Chicago Heat. According to sources, the team will be composed of a combination of free agent professional players and up and coming divisional stars from PSP team Distortion. Pro Paintball insiders suggest the team might be working with Eclipse, who have been long time NPPL supporters and may hint at their direction. Being that this is a new team, insiders suggest that they will be playing D1 in the PSP or Pro in the NPPL.

Earlier in the off season Pro paintball insiders heard rumors that after the Chicago Aftershock win in NPPL Vegas (of which there were four distortion players rostered), Shock and Distortion would be teaming up for 2012. However, as is typical of off season maneuvering, plans change. Chicago Aftershock has picked up players from divisional team BOOM and Distortion is said to be making their own way.

Introducing the "How to Paintball" video series

November 30, 2011 in Featured, Industry News

New Paintball Players

New paintball players getting ready for the first game

Throughout the last couple years I have been looking for ways to give back to the game that has given me so much. ProPaintball.com is derived from that need to contribute to and build our sport. However, we cater primarily to an audience that is already playing. About a year ago we embarked on a project to help grow and introduce the game of paintball to new paintball players. I will be the first to admit that the journey was long, and at times trying, but the ultimate result was worth it. Here is why:

Each time we mention paintball, or set up a recreational game, we run into the same group of questions — “What is paintball?”, “Does it hurt?”, and “How do I play?”. With this in mind, I began searching for some sort of guide that I could email to my friends, family, and those interested. We as a sport needed a educational tool that was free, didn’t require much time, and helped provide the information new players need to enjoy their first game of paintball.

Believe it or not, such a tool did not exist. So, with the help of several friends and the generous support of Empire Paintball and Giant Paintball, we created the guide. As the saying goes, “If you build it, they will come”. Right?

How to Paintball video guide series

Our creation is a 3-part educational paintball video series designed to teach new and prospective players how to paintball. Each video runs approximately 3 minutes long and covers everything from the paintball basics, to planning for your first trip, what to bring, and what to expect at the field. We have also built in several tips including ways to save money (or in some cases, play free paintball), game related tactics and important safety concepts.

We ask that you take a minute and explore these How to Paintball videos. Then, SHARE these videos with your friends. Plug them on facebook, message boards, email, and place them on your field and store websites. If you don’t own a field or store, perhaps you can suggest your favorite paintball company include them on their websites.

We hope you utilize these videos as the important instructional tools they are. Please, help spread the message and grow the sport. Share Paintball with your friends!

When sharing the videos, please refer prospective players back to this page: http://www.propaintball.com/how-to-paintball-guide/

Empire Paintball: Get Sponsored like a Pro!

November 2, 2011 in Teams

Pro Paintball Infamous with Bobby Aviles

Pro player Bobby Aviles of LA Infamous rocking his Empire Paintball gear

Empire Paintball sends word that they have opened their team sponsorship program for 2012. Throughout the 2011 paintball season the staff here at ProPaintball noted a huge increase in the number of teams shooting Empire Paintball Axe’s, Prophecy Z2 Paintball Loaders, Empire Paintball Gear and RPS Paintballs. Pro teams such as Chicago Legend, Sacramento XSV, LA Infamous, San Diego Dynasty, Vancouver Vendetta and others all competed throughout the 2011 using Empire Paintball equipment.

We had a chance to talk to Thomas Taylor from Sacramento XSV about his Empire AXE at PSP World Cup. Thomas had nothing but great things to say about how well his AXE was shooting, his equipment performed, and his appreciation for Empire Paintball’s continued support.

Does the prospect of a deal on or maybe even free paintball gear sound like something you are interested in? What are you waiting for? Apply now to take advantage of Empire Paintball’s “Get Sponsored Like a Pro”-gram.

Empire Paintball Sponsorship

Empire Paintball Sponsorship Program

Empire Paintball says;

Welcome to the 2012 Get Sponsored Like A Pro program, from Empire Paintball. Teams around the world can get hooked up like a pro in 2012 with gear from Empire or Empire Battle Tested.   If you have the heart and love for the game and are on a team of 5 or more then here is your chance to be a rising star.

Here’s how the Get Sponsored Pro Like a Pro Program works.

  • Go to Empire Paintball click on the Field and Dealer Locator button and locate an Authorized Empire/Empire Battle Tested Dealer near you. Once you select your home field, make sure you reach out to them to notify them that you are trying to get Sponsored Like a Pro from Empire Paintball.
  • Then on the Empire website click on the Submission Page and enter your team’s info and submit it to us.
  • Team Captains will be notified via e-mail if your team has been approved for sponsorship for the 2012 season approximately 2-3 weeks after submitting an application.
  • If your team is approved, you will order your gear through the dealer selected in the application. Our dealers will be notified that your team has been approved for sponsorship and you’ll have to arrange a time for you to review the gear packages available to your team with them directly.
  • Once you have your gear, you must send us a team picture with your new gear on. If you don’t send us a team image, your team will not be listed on the Empire Paintball website.

Good Luck in 2012 and Get Sponsored Like a Pro Today!

A birdie dropped a note in our ear just as we were getting ready to hit publish. Apparently teams competing in NPPL Las Vegas that are wearing Empire Paintball 2012 gear and taking part in the Sponsored like a Pro-gram are eligible to receive 10 cases of free paintballs. Check out the sign up page for more information.
