We have a new feature where we, ProPaintball.com, have a short interview consisting of 5 questions (4 team/paintball specific and 1 ‘for fun’ question – paintball related or not) entitled ‘Five Questions with _____’. Today I fill in that blank with European pro team, the Ton Tons of France. Captain Fabrice “Tavarez” Colombo kindly answered some questions for us. Read below to learn a little about the successful team.
PPB: Please share a brief history of the Toulouse Ton Ton’s.
TonTons: Tonton was born in February 1992, by the meeting of enthusiasts and friends in Toulouse and then in Marseille. From the beginning, the commitment of these members has been rewarded with a record unmatched in France and Europe: in the 196 tournaments played, the Tontons got 56 first places, 25 second places and 23 third place, so they went 5 times European Champion in Pro division (Millennium series) and one in Amateur, 6 times French champion, 3rd and 1st in the Word championship in 1997 and 2010, ……..Spectacular results, they have conquered in France of course, but also the USA, England, Russia, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Ukraine, Turkey, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark or Sweden. The history of paintball written every day, Tonton adds, every year, some beautiful lines.
PPB: What are the teams’ plans for 2011?
TonTons: Tonton will be playing the National French League called Ligue Elite. Every month we organize and play the tournament Tonton club on our field. Some events in France. But our priority will be the Millennium series in CPL. And we’ll finish the season with the World Cup in Orlando.
PPB: Who sponsors Team TonTon?
TonTons: Dye Paintball for the pants, jerseys, goggles, pads, paintball guns, hoppers and bags.
We’ll shoot the perfect Carnage Paintballs from CAMP.
SUP’AIRBALL – we will train on the millennium series field.
Energy Paintball for the power on our guns and hoppers
Good Game Paintball with the loader shield inside our loaders
PPB: Who is on the 2011 roster?
Axel Gaudin: Front snake player
Fanck Chambon: Front snake player
Sébastien Duvivier: Back player
Yan Samoylov: Back player
Guillaume Bonici: Dorito player
Fabrice “Tavarez” Colombo: Front player
And one more player is coming but not confirmed (not a French)
Pascal Hausser: Head Coach
Jean Jacques Farlet: Coach/Pit crew
PPB:Do you believe in aliens? If so, do you think they play paintball on their planet(s)?
Ton Tons: MMmmmm?!? Good question…..I hope yes! Like that we could play the Interplanetary Cup. I love this idea!
PPB: I would like to thank Tavarez and the entire TonTon organization. ProPaintball.com wishes them all the best on their upcoming season!

The Millennium has just release the layout for the upcoming European Master. The tournament is scheduled to get underway on May 21-23 in Bitburg, Germany. After all the mayhem that took place in Malaga, some games will have to be made up in Germany but the game schedule is still unknown.
Todays pro paintball rumor report will be brief, and cut to the chase. There has been lots of paintball news flying around lately and we’re keeping you all up to date.
DC Arsenal is rumored to not be playing this year in the NPPL. With the PSP filling up their pro spots, what will happen to them? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
Word has it that there will be a new team playing in the Millenium series. Team U.S.A., it will be composed of 2 teams, San Diego Dynasty and Edmonton Impact. You would think the team would be called team North America, one team from Canada, and the other from the U.S.A.
After finalization during the USPL Huntington Beach 2009 event members of San Diego Dynasty and DC Arsenal will be teaming up to play in the Millennium Malaga event this next weekend. This is the first we’ve seen of the #1 and #2 US teams teaming up together to play in the European Circuit. Many in the past have guest starred on other teams that represent the same sponsors, but nothing on this level. The players representing Team USA will include Ryan Greenspan(Dynasty), Yosh Rau(Dynasty), Alex Fraige(Dynasty), JC Whittington(Arsenal), Chris Designor(Arsenal) & Pat Rhodes(Arsenal) with a 7th Player TBA. Who might it be? Surely the next days will tell but until then, Team America,F Yeah!
There has been much speculation over the past few days in the Chatbox with regards to Chris’s plans for this season. He met up with us to tell you directly:

Attention European Paintball: Sup’Airball has been hard at work trying to unify the top paintball leagues by simplifying the bunker layouts in order to cross over. The bridge has been made, and for 2009 the Millennium will use 44 bunkers and will have an upgrade kit for sale that includes the famous trees we’ve all come to love.
An update from the Millennium Series went out yesterday to the industry. From what we have gathered, the league has signed a deal with the sports TV channel EUROSPORT and will begin running broadcasts shortly.
In conjunction with this announcement, the Millennium is asking all manufactures of GEAR & MARKERS used within the league (this means..everyone) for a cash “sponsorship”. We’ve only looked at the documents briefly, but from what we gather its “not good” for the manufactures who are struggling in the economic downturn. For example, this means that if ANGEL PAINTBALL SPORTS and Draxxus don’t “pay up”, Joy Division will not be allowed to utilize the ANGEL markers or the Vforce goggle systems.
Looks like Dave Youngblood’s wife was wrong (thanks for the comment!). Sorry Rhonda, the Millenium IS requiring a minimum $13,000 payment for a gun to be USED by ANY team competing on the field. It’s interesting to note that this $13,000.00 doesn’t allow the manufacture to actually display the marker in their booth as, of course, they have another fee for that “privilege”.
The millennium series organizers have impeccable timing. Once step forwards, two steps backwards.
