Super 7 Paintball Series Australia

Super 7 Paintball Series Australia

The Australia Super 7 Paintball Series has grown considerably in recent years. As the league has progressed, so has the caliber of players. The 2011 Series winners, Syndey SWAT, was a force to be reckoned with at the 2011 World Cup Asia and gave many teams a run for their money. Derder has spent considerable time in the land “down under”, and has published a ton of action packed paintball videos. Derder Paintball recently released the 2012 Australia Super 7 Paintball promo video. The video provides a great idea of what the rest of us are missing. Check it!

Australia's Super 7 Round 2

August 22, 2009 in Aftermath, Bushwackers, DC Arsenal, Dynasty, Infamous, Russian Legion, S7 Series

Geelong_Extreme copyRound 2 of the Super 7 Australian Paintball took place the weekend of August 1-2 in Serpentine, just south of Perth. In what seems to be an emerging trend, we’re going to continue to see many of the US Professional Paintball players traveling down under to enjoy the sun and compete in the Australian event series.

There were 4 teams left in the finals and 3 of the teams featuring US pro paintball players: Geelong Extreme, MenaceSTK, and Hostile Intentions.

  • Geelong Extreme featured Greg Siewers of the OC Bushwackers, Marcello Margott of SD Aftermath and Justin Rabackoff of Russian Legion/DC Arsenal
  • Menace featured Ryan Greenspan of SD Dynasty, Alex Savino of LA Infamous, and Bobby Aviles of SD Aftermath
  • STK featured Scott Kemp of LA Ironmen.

The Semi final match ups were Menace vs. Extreme, and Hostile Intentions vs. STK. Menace and GE played all three games and ended up in a 1v1 between Bobby Aviles and Justin Rabackoff to continue onto the Finals. The 1v1 ended in favor of Geelong Extreme as Bobby was eliminated after running out of bounds.

STK defeated Hostile Intentions in their Semi Final series and matched up against Geelong Extreme in the finals. In just two games Geelong Extreme and guests took to the podium for their First win of the season and also First Place for series points.

The next Super 7 Event is on the South Western side of Australia in Rouse Hill November 27 & 28, 2009.

Australia's 2009 Super 7s

February 2, 2009 in S7 Series

bc1452008 was a great year for international paintball on a professional level. Many American players guest starred on other teams throughout the season and the most notable league was the Millennium Series. Although, teams like Joy Division and Bad Company spent most of their season abroad competing on multiple continents! 2009 has arrived, and the Australia Super 7 Series is back, with another great schedule of events. Expect to see Bad Company there again in full force, as well as many other notable teams. Last year, Nicky T., Tim Montressor, Bobby Aviles, Brandon Short, and Alex Savino attended Super 7 events, perhaps more American players will be making the trek down under as well!

Round 1 – Action Paintball Sydney – May 16th and 17th 2009
Round 2 – Action Paintball Perth – August 1st and 2nd 2009 (Since this is the end of winter, hopefully there will be less rain!)
Round 3 – Action Paintball Sydney – November 28th and 29th

10 Man is back again! The 2009 State of Origin tournament will be taking place on Friday November 27, 2009. For those of you marking your calendars, that is the Friday prior to the Masters.

Apparently the Super 7’s Organizer has a surprise up his sleeve coming in the next few weeks. Perhaps we will be seeing the dawn of a 5 man event?

Last but not least the Australian Xball League has released the 2009 Schedule as well, it is as follows:

Round 1 28/29 March 2009 Camden

Round 2 27/28 June 2009 Camden

Round 3 29/30 August 2009 TBA

Round 4 10/11 October 2009 Camden

Round 4 of Australia's Super 7

November 12, 2008 in Misc., S7 Series

On the Friday before the 7 man event, they will be holding a 10 man State of Origin Tournament where the state teams will be competing. The 7 man event will still be taking place on Saturday.

In the Round 3 event in Sydney, Bad Company defeated Hostile Intentions for 1st place. Round 4 might provide some surprises for all of us! Put your thoughts and speculations in the comments
