New Paintball Gear: GI Sports SLEEK Goggle System

September 21, 2011 in Gear

Earlier this season we rumored that GI Sports was developing a series of goggles for the paintball market. When we wrote the original story we had a decent amount of intel and back story but were limited to conceptual art as the goggles were still in development. Today a photo has surfaced that indicates that at least one of the GI Sports paintball goggles will be launched in the near to immediate future.

GI Sports Paintball Goggle SLEEK

Here are a few details on the GI Sports SLEEK Goggle System from a story we wrote back in June.

The Italia brothers who own GI Sports/Vision/Milsim also happen to own OptiCoating, a goggle and lens manufacturing business as well as a EyeTactical, a tactical goggle company. With all of that in mind, ProPaintball insiders wagered that it was only a matter of time until the Italia brothers released a paintball goggle of their own.

Graphics placed on the GI Sports paintball trailer and box art only served to fuel the speculation. Last fall, ProPaintball insiders zeroed in on the the GI Sports & Milsim paintball box art featuring a sneak peak at the new paintball goggles from GI. The goggles pictured in the box art will be officially branded as the GI Vision SLIVER goggle system. Yes, you read that right, S-L-I-V-E-R. Designed and manufactured by Richmond Italia’s goggle company OptiCoating, the new GI Sports goggle systems are said to have great optical clarity and feature a very easy lens replacement system. Read below for a first look at the new paintball gear and goggle systems from GI’s new line, GI VISION.

GI Sports will be unveiling two Goggle systems. The first goggle will be known as the GI SLEEK Vision System. The GI Sleek Vision system features GI’s “3 star” rating, meaning it has been designed for paintball fields and recreational players. This paintball mask will be offered at a lower price point.

What do you think about the new GI Sports paintball goggles?

  1. Scorpion winnnnns! Don’t like it

  2. Great for Rec-players but I really hope they step it up for the Tournament player edition!

  3. It Looks like it has the same lenses as profilers.. dont really like the bottom of the mask, hope it turns out to be a low end mask

  4. Definately not a fan of the DXS and Scott mutant offspring.

  5. Like everything in life we the people need fresh looking gear and threds. This mask is a turn off for many of us. Below the lens looks like a huge canoe followed by some hard plastic… We could all agree that the lens is legit but the bottom needs vast improvement to be competitive with all other masks that we all use, ie. dye, proto, vforce. Good luck, i would of thought Gi would have taken positive feedback from there sponsored teams…

  6. Looks like the old save face mask.

  7. That front venting looks terrible (in terms of aesthetics, not function)

  8. Luke… I AM YOUR FATHER!

  9. It does look like it will cover a lot of your face! Maybe a mask for fat face players like myself? I mean if you look from the bridge of the nose to the bottom of the mask it looks HUGE!

Maybe they are going to market it to big headed people?

  10. BTW

Where did the name come from? It may be something but sleek it is not!

  11. looks like a profiler and a grillz had a baby

  12. That lens looks exactly like the profiler lenses of yore. I don’t know how that is some big improvement on the market of paintball optics.

  13. what ab ugly mask, and i aint tryin to get bunkerd in my mouth with them big holes everywhere ya dig!?

  14. Thing sucks

  15. Hey look they redid the old skull masks.

  16. profiler
