Back when there were multiple layouts, there were some really unique layouts too. Sure, the center court tends to be standard as most layouts, but how about those giant “A” s on the angel fields, and JT mega pyramid looking thing. Or the diamond shaped snake-height setups. Those days saw some interesting stuff. In the back of my mind, I wonder if the cookie cutter field layouts used now have any impact on the reduced popularity of major tournaments. I know the economy is the big reason, but I always wonder if the unimaginative field designs play any role.
