March 9, 2009 in Ironmen
This past weekend the Ironmen competed in the Kish Island, Golden Palm Paintball Championship. The little isand of Kish is home to Iran’s Olympic Stadium, which was host to the event. 9 foreign teams came to compete in the 3day event that hosted 20 domestic teams. Ironmen, representing the United States, placed First. Second was Iran’s Datis, and Third was from the Netherlands.

Tensions between Iran and the United States have never been higher…

I, like many other people here didn’t watch the event but I’m speculating that the competition over there was no where near the level of back here in the US. I’m sure this was a great opportunity for dye to continue work on expanding the global paintball reach. Good for the iron men with the win, but it was probably like competing in the special Olympics..

Good for them! Americans should not be ashamed of the fact that we domanate a sport, we are the stronger team(nation) adn we should lead by example, and win every event we can.
Yep I am sure the other teams were not up to the standards of the Ironmen—so what, they signed up, they played , they lost..end of story. I am sure by the time all the money spent in counted, it cost the Ironmen a lot more to play there than they won.
The Ironmen make me proud to be an AMERICAN….!!!!

Actually, most teams that showed up were invited to come. I am a player for the Dutch team that took third and we were asked to come and play this tournament. It was a great experience and we would gladly get our asses handed to us again by the Ironmen.

sounds great this will get them all to start playing and practicing harder and bring more competition to the USA in the future.

Yes, yes, USA dominate the paintball sport, but dont say the are alone. In fact, the only international event, that have presence of the better international teams, is the INTERCONETINENTAL CUP, and USA didnt beat EUROPE in that event. Remember that Joy stocholm exist, and when USA teams are represented in the MILLENIUM CUP by the phillydogs (a mix between philly americans,y naugty dogs)and they always faund in JOY, the team that stop them all. Trauma won the International Cup…

To read is a good habit. INTERCONTINENTAL CUP, not international CUP. Trauma dont even play that tournament. That tournament is played by clasification. The best 4 USA teams, vs the best 4 EURO teams.

Okay. I admit, I read wrong. Calm down. And before you get on someone about reading, maybe take a step back and assess your writing…

Awesome, way to represent the US especially in a time of crisis. Its unfortunate that the some of the people on this site dont see the bigger picture as well as remember how all the US teams in the past that played in the Millenium Series traditionally always took the podium in the top 4 spots. Although the competition has been getting better over the years, hands down the US represents the best teams worldwide. Def need to keep kicking butt all over the world and representing the US

If you are talking about my comment. The first thing I admit, is that USA dominate the paintball sports. I only say, they are not alone. There are a cuple of good teams out of the USA teams. RL, Joy and others no that good.

The US government actually paid for the Ironmen to travel to Iran. Obama sent them on a mission to win the tournament and collect the prize money to help stimulate our economy.
kLoWn said on March 10, 2009
^^ WOW!
The costs to get the Ironmen there and all the other stuff involved with playing the tournament were more than the prize money.

When asked to comment, Sean Penn said..”Last year I went to Iran. Before Irnomen showed up, it was a happy place. They had flowery meadows and rainbow skies, and rivers made of chocolate, where the children danced and laughed and played with gumdrop smiles.”
Matt Damon further said “MATT DAMON”.
